Here’s a downside to home food delivery that hadn’t occurred to me: squirrel damage.
We had ordered a week’s groceries from Target, and delivery was scheduled between 3:00 and 4:00 pm today. Our past experience with Target was that they were pretty good about on-time delivery. So we were watching for it to arrive, but only with half attention. At 4:10 Katharyn looked outside and found that Target had come and gone: four bags were on the top step.
And a grey squirrel had broken into a bag of bread and was busily chowing down.
We think it’s probably the same squirrel who rampaged on our Halloween pumpkin last October. (We call him Peter the Pumpkin Eater.)
We threw out the bread, sadly. No need to encourage yet more animal-borne disease jumping to humans.
One year those rodents ate through our holiday lights! Sorry about your bread. 😒
