Love Made Visible
Have you seen those videos from drones flying over empty streets and squares and public spaces? Here’s one from Boston. They can seem eerie, ominous, perhaps a bit creepy. But there’s another way to see them, and I personally like it much better.
Yesterday my Minister, Rev. Elea Kemler of the First Parish Church of Groton, MA, preached a short sermon on Facebook Live. Her inspired perspective on these scenes of empty cities went roughly like this:
When you see empty cities, don’t think “This looks like the end of the world.” Think instead, this is love. This is all of us going to unprecedented lengths to protect the most vulnerable among us. This is the most massive display of pure love that any of us is likely ever to see in our lifetime.
