He Can’t Breathe, We Can’t Breathe, the Earth Can’t Breathe
There is still a slight smell of smoke lingering in our living room as I write this. Not too far from us a man was killed because he carried a counterfeit twenty dollar bill. This led to peaceful demonstrations which turned into looting and fires and general mayhem. There have been so many deaths of unarmed black men. This, along with all the deaths from Covid-19, has us collectively holding our breaths, wondering who will be the next to die. Meanwhile, the air around us is being filled with toxins from burning buildings as we mourn for another life lost and for the toxic environment that has led us here.
If you want others to act with integrity (the police, for example) you need to act with integrity (the protesters) by wearing a mask at least. This is what a 40 year culture praising individualism and selfishness has created. It’s a tragedy. I feel like society is collapsing.
That surprised me too. I noticed many weren’t wearing masks or social distancing. Seems they were caught up in the protest and forgetting about the Pandemic.
Turns out that post tests came back with only a 1-2% positive result rate after the protests.
Right, thanks Anne, as described here.
